Unlike an engagement ring, a wedding band is worn every day, so comfort and durability matter as much as looks.

1. Karat

14K is the hardest and most scratch-resistant; 18K has richer colour and value; 22K is soft and more traditional.

2. Colour

Yellow is classic, white is modern (rhodium plating can be renewed), rose is romantic. Matching your engagement ring helps them sit well together.

3. Width

2–3 mm pairs with a solitaire, 4–5 mm is balanced, 6 mm+ is bold and may need half a size up.

4. Comfort fit

A slightly domed interior slides over the knuckle more easily and feels softer all day.

5. Finish

Polished is timeless but shows scratches; matte or brushed finishes hide daily wear.

6. Plain or diamond

Plain bands are low maintenance and easy to resize; diamond and baguette bands add sparkle but full-eternity styles are hard to resize.

7. Size

Measure in the evening and choose half a size up for wide bands.
